Fear the quiet people, the ones who sit and smile and nod politely at the back of the room. Fear the people who don’t always give their opinion, who sing at the back of the choir and dance in the shadows. They are not shy or awkward or socially inept- they’re sharp, calculating, and observant. They will always remain a dark mystery, only a portion of them exposed at once. They think about their words before they speak and make sure that when they do, it’s delivered with impact. On the outside, they could be completely silent- but on the inside, they could also be slowly plotting your downfall or flicking through an overheard secret.
